Hi

Greg Hunter is currently under the pseudonymn DUBSAHARA.
You can find a Dubsahara mix of a Kaya Project track on the Interchill compilation ARCANA. On the same compilation he has his own track HARMONIC DENSITY.......info at ....http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/itc/itc1cd023.html

He also has a track NEURO FEEDBACK on the Lquid Records compilation SOUL VIBRATION recorded under his own name. These are his latest offerings. So keep an eye out for a Dubsahara album. Hope this helps.

I've also recently become aware of Greg Hunter. One of those names that just keeps popping up in the credits of a huge variety of recordings. I'd heard good things about his 'Frozen Ants' release by the alias Subsurfing and have had my feelers out for a reasonably priced CD.

Today I looked him up on Discogs.com
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Greg+Hunter
(Discogs, btw, is my most valued music research, and collection tracking tool. Stringent peer review of data entry makes this database much more useful than freeDB or Gracenote/CDDB. (http://www.discogs.com/user/Random_Tox if you want to see my collection.))

Cross-referencing his group memberships and remix/engineer/production credits I found that I have a crop of his collaborations already. Beside the above mentioned frequent collaborations with Youth, Orb, and Juno Reactor, he's a member of Alien Soap Opera, DMT, Dub Trees, Fifth Sun, and Kreg. He's worked with or remixed The Egg, Transglobal Underground, System 7, Suns of Arqa, Depeche Mode, 18 Wheeler, Killing Joke, Drum Club, Sheep On Drugs, Erasure, Front 242...and more.

I got a load of this older stuff ,and newer too, its the matetrial hes sitting on I `d love to sharre with my neighbours, someone needs to go round to his house beat him uo and focre him to relase the monstrous tunes he`s no doubt withholding from the world,i`ll frickin do it for nothing ,or at least filter an albums worth of pure gold maybe he needs a gemtle shove in the right direction, but prob not. ooooooooooooooo painful,oh yes i got it bad alright..........

I just got Greg's "Sout El Leil" Fifth Sun collaboration. It leans far to the traditional Arabic music with only subtle electronic atmosphere. I recomend it only if you really like global music. The Orb it ain't. You get a good sense of what to expect from the Fifth Sun track on 'Arabian Travels'. http://www.discogs.com/release/64491

Greets all

I know this is an old post, but hope anyone reading might find this info useful :))

I am currently working on a new collaberation with the masterful Greg at the moment, named Spectralite, I thought I'd share a few insights on our new music and Gregs music in general.

Spectralite are manifesting universal resonance and we are currently in talks with several outstanding labels to find the right home for release. An Orb remix or two have already birthed from these sessions and you can hear the stunning results on the forthcoming Orb album (from Liquid Sound?).

Greg has several metamorphological projects up his sonic sorcerers sleeve!! These can be categorised in at least two distinct flavours...Dubsahara and Jagatah. Dubsahara as you might already know is the digital desert music from the subsonic-saharan soundscapes. Jagatah is a deeper mystic trip into the geomantic resonance of the ancient Egyptian cosmologies. Both projects are currently in production, with more than one album of totally new music under each named aspect!! The tree of life will bear great fruit after the lotus blossom period...
You can hear samples of this epic work here...

We are fortunate here at Sangita Sounds to be working with Greg, and we aim to share much of this music in the coming months with full releases being made available in the Summer 2007. Visit us at www.sangitasounds.co.uk and drop us a line for more news

Peace
Darren Sangita

ps...what about a Banco / Hunter collaberation, Toby!! :))

Alien Soap Opera is a superb CD. Must dig it out and give it a play, it's been a while. Fantastic Araby dub-noodling (that's as good a description as I can manage...)
