radiohead.. gearing myself to see them on saturday night waheey!!
I listen: the first album of PHUTUREPRIMITIVE "Subconscious" (listen samples on web site), MUNGUSID "Influence of moonlight", and a rare good electronic french music: JAIA "Fiction" (listen samples on the label Digital Structures) with a similar female voice sample (in "Desert Walk") as in "Down from the Mountain".
Currently have the new William Orbit CD on - this is my third listen and I like it more each time. Very much in his "Strange Cargo" style - but different - even has a really nice female singer doing a somewhat poppish R&B tune - but in the Orbit style. Seeing Depeche Mode tomorrow night (24th row just off center to the right - sweet seats!) - but not listening to anything of theirs, wanting it to be fresh and all. Of course looking forward to the new cd from Toby - preordering now!
Still reeling from seeing Tommy Emmanuel last night so listening to some of his stuff... especially the Initiation track - mindblowing!
Earthtribe , Mydriasis, Astralasia and Joi.......as well as some Whirlygig anthems from the past....
Broken Social Scene (Canada?) any info welcomed

Josh Ritter Youth Way Out West
Chosen Lords by The Aphex Twin. Absolutely gorgeous haunting squidgey acid. Great kitchen music. Also handy for dancing around outside a burger van in a field at 7 AM. Roll on festival season!
"Last Train To Lhasa" single, bought for a fiver in Glastonbury! Excellent!
I won't mention how much you could have bought it from us for then! ;-)
Eh? I'm skint, too! What about that 7-hour mix of Kincajou, then, I'm still waiting! Would pay five hundred for that!!
Galaxy Science of Ecstacy
Pink Floyd, "Relics" - now that's what I call psychedelic
lots and lots of loud blaring punk rock!!!!!!!, especially those from the no future label from the 80's! I adore tobys music to the max but i'm still a firmly rooted awld punk rocker from the punk/new wave explosion. hey toby, ever fancied remixing any ruts or rezillos tracks, and yet again i feel i must recommend 'four enclosed walls' from the flowers of romance album by public image ltd! i reckon you'd be a good bet to put a good remix of that one out. love from the loobster
Mekon GCE
Puccini's Tosca!

Kamagurka ... hilariously funny www.kamagurka.com
Various Banco's, mostly 'Big Men Cry'. Also lots of Gong, and some Klaus Schulze.
Flaming Lips.. at war with the mystics... top stuff.... and coldcut podcast... and Kara Kum at least once a day....... oh and a little bit of PJ harvey... "lick my legs and I'm on fire!"...
Hey Si, I'm really struggling with that Flaming Lips album. Loved the last two, but this new one... seems flat in comparison - almost forced...?
it started off that way for me too..only liked 2 tracks on the first listen.. but so did 'yoshimi'... I'd say give it time, but on the other hand, should an album have to listened to loads before you like it?.. did you see them on jools holland.. loved their version of war pigs!!
Same here with AWWTM for me. I found it quite borring and uninspired at first but upon further listenings now enjoy it immensly. Still think Soft Bulliten is my favorite though and then comes Yoshimi... does Tody like the Flaming Lips?
Dont know about Tody, but they lost my respect with that ill - advised cover of bohemian rhapsody. Liked Soft Bulletin, loved Yoshimi, but ...yeah I think they've lost it. a bit like Super furry Animals
Iron Maiden
Agree with you D. about the Super Furries, which is a great shame, as they were fantastic. And Gorky's have split up too, so this is doubly sad...
Joan As Police Woman - "Real Life" Thomas Dolby - "The Flat Earth" Ferry Corsten - "L.E.F." Gotan Project - "Lunatica" Dreadzone - "Sound" BDG - "You Are Here" Plan B -" Who Needs Actions When You've Got Words" And.... ....my FM3 buddha machine. www.fm3.com.cn/buddhamachine.htm What can I say.....I'm crazy from the heat.....
Thievery Corporation- The Glass Bead Game Boards of Canada- Dayvan Cowboy
lots of early transglobal underground stuff such as dream of 100 nations album and the drreadzone remix of lookeeeeeeeeeee here!

Ojes de Brujo
EXPLOITED!!!
Ynys Elen in a stone circle - try it it really works!!!
Well, this week i've mostly been listening old electronic music such as Beaumont Hannant (Texturology LP )which is my all time favourite artist, and Boards of Canada (production under Skam label and cassette 70). I've also been listening to Susumu YOKOTA and the last LP from Isan (Morr music label)...
Kara Kum
Farewell Ferengistan and Imogen Heap
rev up by the revillos! quadruped ep the chakra journey - return to the source 2nd album four enclosed walls by public image - toby must remix this one someday!
Sounds from the Ground 'Mosaic'. GREAT! Hadn't heard the instrumental version of 'Snow' and like it much better than the vocal. Meat Beat Manifesto 'Live '05'. My favorite concert in since The The's Naked tour. Dakini label's 'Sky Dancing 3'. Similar to the great appeal of Banco. Global, chilly, dubby, trippy... Just discovering Sun Electric 'Present'. Wow. There so much great music like this, 90's 'ambient dub', that was so obscure in the western US that I keep finding more. Any recommendations from those of you who witnessed the emergence?
Farewell Ferengistan, You are one, Maya - BDG This is the Sea Remastered - The Waterboys Move by yourself - Donovan Frankenreiter Both sides of the gun - Ben Harper Yellfire - Michael Franti and Spearhead ( A wondeful stew of rock, ska and reggae with intelligent, topical lyrics that feel like a call to arms) ? is Sky Dancing 3 similar to Sky Dancing nada masala vol. 1?
Oddly, even with thousands of people crowding around us, with the artificial lights, the bombastic pomposity of the text, and the canned solemnity of the ambience, something truly transcendent is in the air. So powerful is the weight of time in these monumental ruins that one feels palpably at one with all who came before. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that in these cities of the dead, we come to realize that, if nothing else, it is the shared fear and awe of the mystery of death that unites us, and in an odd way, makes us timeless.
Yes, If you like Sky Dancing 1 I expect you'll like 3. Quite similar to my ear.
Ferengistan, of course. But ALSO the new Front Line Assembly, "Artificial Soldier". It is a welcome return to old skool Industrial along the lines of "Implode" and "Tactical Neural Implant". For those of you who like to STOMP as well as RAVE, this is essential.
Farewell Ferengistan, Tomcats in Tokyo and "ESCM" by BT
Freeform Flutes and Fading Tibetans! What a great record!! I can't understand that we cannot find such a record in shop.
random tox, dakini records is makyo's label isn't it? anyone heard 'rasa bhava' by makyo?
Eno/Byrne - My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts and Bill Hicks for a giggle .... ;-)
Yes Icemonster, Dakini is Makyo's. I haven't had the chance to hear 'Rasa Bhave'. It's sounds like it has been released and sold out 2-3 times. I love his stuff that shows up on comps from Interchill, Six Degrees, Return To The Source, etc. I only have on full length of his: Shringara/Devadasi. Love it.
Kaya Project, Karsh Kale and Banco have all been rotating through my cd players this week.
