my banco CDs that i bought....YES bought!!I bought them at the time they came out so they are getting on. they seem to be having a clicking noise on them that comes through the speakers...its happening to my Maya,live@Glastonbury(i was there!!) AND my favourite,Magical sounds.it seems to happen at the end of the CD.(its also happening to my Joshua Tree album).i have always put my cds away after use and have never ever just left them out on the carpet, stacked up and shit.i have always taken care of them.fer christs sake i even have magical sounds on my wall (in a litttle holder)thats how much i revere it!.whats happening to my cherished possessions? i will continue to support Banco, but i do think that its a bit shit that the sound quality of my CDs hasnt lasted that long. i love you Banco, thank you, goodnight
oh rastafarout big hug but i bet they've lasted a lot longer in sound quality after thousands of plays than a tape or vinyl would i love Banco too i will buy you one new CD for... for the f*** of it... just 'cos i can and i have a cold and i've been drinking Hot Toddies and i feel like hugging the world... and cos... i'm glad i'm not the only one with banco on the walls (mine is my old not playing copy of Igizeh, i couldn't bring myself to throw it away so i framed it, complete with cover.) big worldly banco huggy
This sounds like "normal" deterioration to me. My rare copy of Mixmaster Morris' first album is also going this way. It particularly seems to happen to albums that are close to the 74 minute limit. My advice is to get the CD ripped to your computer as soon as possible. Alot of computer drives will read a "slightly gone" CD better than actual hifi players. Give it a try! STEVE...
thanks people,i think the 74 min thing is a good point. thanks for big hugs
pc's are great.. mine saved my 'played to almost destruction' 3 cd last train to lhasa album after I thought it was a goner.. now new cds are kept safely on the shelf while I listen to (ok it maybe compressed) the mp3 loveliness of them..
