http://www.ecolunasa.com/WhirlyGig Banco are down for playing whirlyGig at this festival in Ireland Sounds interesting, but not seen any 'official' thing that banco are playing. Is this correct? just7
Waiting to see if it definitely goes ahead...
Thanks, Toby never heard of this festival before, but sounds like it could be a good'un!
Almost certainly cancelled I'm afraid.
well, thats a shame, then. thieir web-site is not easy to navigate round, try finding how to buy tickets! But they are still taking registrations for tickets. Tickets are not even on sale yet, so presumably it ain't cancelled due to lack of ticket sales?!..... Do you know any more , Toby, re why cancelled?...... http://www.ecolunasa.com/tickets Tickets Limited Tickets of 3,500 go on sale online at 7am on the 7th of July Weekend Camping Ticket ?77 Access to main arena and camping area. Sunday Day Access Only - ?27 Monday Day Access Only - ?21
They finally officially cancelled today. Basically a bunch of chancers who didn't get enough interest in advance so let a lot of people down rather than risk losing money. Sorry, no more festivals from me this summer.
Could you create your own in Cheddar?
Thanks for the info, Toby Sorry to hear that. Perhaps Steve Palmer's idea is worth thinking about?...... Hawkwind hold their own festival near Honiton in a few weeks time. It is limited to max. 1,000 tickets, 3 day event inc. camping, ?60. You have to be a 'Hawkwind member' to go, which cost nothing apart from a photo and a stamp. I think this makes it easier for licensing purposes? They have around 30 bands on, quite a few different styles, space-rock, as one might expect, to more folky offering such as Seth lakeman, 3 daft monkeys.... so how about a banco festival? I'm sure we could muster enough support for one!
It could be called Festi De Gaia.
Sounds good to me!
