I saw Dragonsfly there on Sunday at a lawn concert - they were fantastic and I cant recommend their gigs highly enough. I have banged on about them before so forgive me for being boring. Also Toby has just finished mastering their new album so if you fancy a dip......Familiar Shores....title track is beautifully sung by Maya Preece of You Have God fame.
BTW the venue was a bit good too - lovely settiing in the grounds of an old hotel and they do accomodation for ?15pp on gig days (normally ?50-60)! Any thoughts to play there Toby?

Umm - where is this? There must be quite a few places called "Coombe Lodge" around..

Am I just being a fuzzy head? Not really awake, confused by the seasons, what is this weather all about?! (in the UK specifically) But where in the world is it normal July weather?

Does sound great though Blueboy and not a bore at all, it's good to have passion!

Keeps you warm in the "summer"...

Sorry, the venue was in a village called Blagdon which is in North Somerset.

Yes, the weather makes you feel like you should be hibernating or something - there's that little critter in America that pokes his head out of his hole and if he doesn't see his shadow he goes back for more kip! Punxatawney Pete or something.....good handle, wish I'd thought of it before!

Jumping around to Banco in my living room keeps me warm - with the curtains shut though.....

I know Blagdon very well, not too far from Cheddar, where the music comes from!

So you're not living up to your exhibitionist name Blueboy? Maybe you keep the blue in private behind the curtains?

It did rain on St Swithens day, but if we think it's bad here...

Yep there's always someone worse off.......like digifrog at Glade (see earlier thread) but it seemed to work out fine for him in the end, that's the blitz spirit boy!

Believe me my dancing is best kept in private when there isn't the distraction of a Banco gig, my style has been likened to a cross between Max Bygraves, Tommy Cooper and the Judder Man!

Familiar Shores is indeed a lovely album, picked it up in Falmouth on the weekend!! Became a fan of theirs after seeing them play at Sunrise Celebration.

The first 2 albums are well worth a listen as well..my fave Dragonsfly song is The River which is on the first album..

Good choice Flip. There are a few on FS that I like a lot, depends if you like the wall-of-sound effect like Spanish Troubadour and Out of Thyme, or the more lyrical tracks like Om Shri Krishna and Ishq Allah. One of my personal faves is Coeurs Perdus especially where it turns into a reggae beat half way through - sublime! Would recommend this album and band to anyone who likes something a bit earthy and a bit folky with an Eastern twist mmm
